After the press, the ELLE brand, owned by the French group Lagardère, will launch into the hotel industry with the opening of the first two establishments in Paris in the fall and in the state of Jalisco in Mexico in 2023.
ELLE, an emblematic brand in the world of fashion and trends, known in particular through its 45 editions around the world, ‘announces the launch of its brand ELLE Hospitality, its new hotel adventure’, becoming ‘the first brand of a media group to get into the hotel sector,” Lagardère said in a press release on Friday.
Two types of establishments will be offered: ‘one urban, developed in the heart of cities with +Maison ELLE+’, while the other, under the banner ‘ELLE Hôtel’, will be ‘more focused on the theme of escape and discovery’ with a top-of-the-range positioning.
The first ‘Maison ELLE’, which will include 25 rooms, a suite and a spa, will open this fall in the center of Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe. Will the opening of the first ‘ELLE Hotel’ in the state of Jalisco in Mexico follow in 2023? before new launches in France, Europe and China.
To carry out these projects, the Lagardère group indicates that it has teamed up with several partners depending on the geographical areas in which it operates.
In France and Europe, it will operate in partnership with Studio V Hospitality, a subsidiary of the French hotel group Valotel, a historical franchisee of the behemoth AccorHotels.
North America in the crosshairs
In Mexico, he will work with Actur, a ‘lifestyle’ real estate developer and, in the Middle East, with Whitney Robinson International, a young upscale hotel development company.
Lagardère is also targeting the North American market, he told AFP.
The ELLE brand already offers several ranges of products (fashion, beauty, and accessories) and claims the ‘success of its cafes in Asia, its spas or its hairdressing salons around the world’.
“We are very proud to take up this new challenge, as the world opens up once more to tourism,” said Constance Benqué, director of ELLE International, quoted in the press release.
