Hayatem is considered one of the famous stars in the late seventies and eighties, especially as she was one of the most famous stars of this generation.
The artist Hayatem, her real name is Suhair Hassan, and she was born in Alexandria Governorate in 1950.
She loved art since her childhood, and began her artistic career by dancing at popular weddings, following which she moved to Cairo to work in some concerts as a dancer.
Hayatem entered the world of art when the artist’s agent nominated her to dance at a party hosted by the artist Abdel Halim Hafez.
Although Hayatem retired from dancing at weddings and parties, she performed many dances in her artwork, and presented many films that achieved great success, including The Beggar, Behind the Sun, Girls I Want A Eh, and others.
The artist Hayatem announced that she refused to marry a rich Arab, as well as a president of the republic, and confirmed that this was not the only offer that came to her from Arab rulers, before she was offered a palace in Switzerland as a gift from one of the wealthy who proposed to marry her, but she refused the offer and the gift.
