Physiotherapist Denis Fortier highlights the extent to which our relationship with our cell phones has evolved since the arrival of smartphones. And he asks the question: is it simple overuse, or downright addiction? What are the ways to find out? Physiotherapist Denis Fortier explains that more and more pain is now linked to the use of smartphones.
Beyond the physical pain in the back, neck or hands, there are of course psychological effects which can be very problematic. Cell phone addiction is therefore real, according to the physiotherapist.
“It reminds me of opioids. There is even a new word: nomophobia, which comes from English and means “no more phone”. It’s the fear of being without your cell phone. »
— A quote from Denis Fortier
Denis Fortier also talks regarding children who grew up with a cell phone in their hands and asks the question of the effects of its use on their cognitive development.
