In Board meeting the Ecuadorian Business Committee (CEE) today elected Miguel Ángel González Guzmán, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil and the National Federation of Chambers of Commerce, as its president.

In the same session, Alejandro Martínez, executive president of Explofores, was elected vice president, a position that they will manage in the period 2022 – 2023

The election took place in the board meeting of the Business Committee.

Miguel Ángel González Guzmán has extensive experience in the Hardware and Industrial sector, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IESE Business School, Business School of the University of Navarra and is an Economist from the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Litoral.

Upon taking office as president of the CEE Miguel Ángel González highlighted the work of Felipe Ribadeneira, president of FEDEXPOR and Verónica Sevilla, outgoing Executive Director of the CEE, who received a vote of applause and unanimous recognition from the participants, when they left their functions following a year of management in front of the Ecuadorian Business Committee.

Miguel Ángel González stressed that he assumes the position with commitment and determination, highlighting that business synergy and teamwork with the government are key to strengthen the country and achieve development.

The new president stressed that the business sector is committed to the country. It will continue to work to generate more efficiency. Public sector and private sector working hand in hand, that is the key to move the country forward. We must work to make Ecuador competitive and attractive to investment. Entrepreneurs ask that the natural dynamics of the business not be hindered.   It calls on all sectors of society to contribute to national development and to become aware that economic growth is key. The business sector is open to contributing to the welfare of citizens.

For his part, the vice president, Alejandro Martínez, expressed his gratitude to the CEE Board of Directors.

The Ecuadorian Business Committee is the third level guild that leads the process of public-private dialogue defends the values of free enterprise in Ecuador and represents 113 productive guilds nationwide, constituting the top organization of the Ecuadorian business sector.
