In the plenary session of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, they evaluated the economic results of Pinar del Río during the past year, as well as the recovery progress following the passage of Hurricane Ian. They also projected the actions to promote the development of Vueltabajo in the current calendar.
On how to transform the economy in Pinar del Río, in a context nuanced by external references and the passage of the meteor, they discussed in the Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The approval of twelve strategic lines focuses the actions in Vueltabajo aimed at achieving food sovereignty, nutritional education, territorial development, productive chains and greater exports. For this, regarding 40 development programs must increase the efficiency of the different economic actors.
In the agricultural sector, of the more than 6,000 hectares of tobacco to be planted this season, there will only be more than 5,000 hectares, given the delays in the reconstruction of houses of care that Ian demolished.
Of the 30 pounds of food per capita of territorial self-sufficiency, 22.9 are delivered and territories such as Mantua, San Luis and the provincial capital do not achieve these rates.
At the meeting, the members of the Provincial Committee of the Party called to work with unity and support those who till the land to have greater results.
The application of science and innovation continue to be a pillar to promote progress and encourage territorial development. Good practices and greater technological support are vital in the westernmost province.

The governor of the province Rubén Ramos Moreno provided an update on the progress of the recovery in which more than 22,000 roof damages have been solved to date.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the Municipal Committees of the Party delivered their commitments to guide the work towards the anniversaries of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks and the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
