The Easter market breathes hope

The time is starting to count down until the festive opening hours of the shops come into force, so that the market of Patras will also formally enter into Easter rhythms.

The signal was sent yesterday by Trade Association of Patras which rushed from several days before announcing the festive opening hours of the shops. The local market will be open on Palm Sunday 28th April from 11am to 6pm.

From M. Monday to M. Wednesday the shops will operate with the usual opening hours, i.e. from 9 am to 2 pm and from 5.30 pm to 9 pm.

On M. Thursdaythe stores will operate continuously, from 9 am to 9 pm.

On M. Paraskevi which will open due to the Epitaph at 1 in the followingnoon and close at 7 in the followingnoon. Especially on Good Friday 03/05, in accordance with the provisions of article 3 of Law 435/76, the operation of commercial stores as well as the employment of employees before 13.00 is prohibited.

On M. Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm.

For this reason, Trade Association invites its members to punctuality on that particular day to avoid fines.

Easter Sunday and Monday, the market will remain closed, as it was on Easter Tuesday due to the postponed May Day holiday.

At the same time, they are called consumers with a sense of responsibility and solidarity to support local shopsas this year the market counts another year with depleted household finances due to inflation.

The member of the Board of Directors and press officer of the Patras Trade Association Makis Makris stated to “Peloponnese” that “the market of Patras is ready to welcome the festive days of Easter, with full shelves and dozens of options. We consider that the support of the local economy is imperative and we hope for our part to get the economic breath we have been looking for for months. We wish all colleagues good jobs”.

As regards to Easter basket, will start just before Holy Week, that is from Wednesday 24 April. It will include toys or candles.
