The East Rail Line 12-card “Black Teen” is now retired, and railway fans force the platform to take pictures

In order to coincide with the opening of the cross-sea section of the East Rail Line of the MTR on the 15th of this month, the 12 trucks commonly known as “Blackheads” are “Last Day” today (6th) and will be retired immediately after completing their work for the day. From tomorrow (7th) onwards Trucks take over. The MTR specially arranged for the last 12 trucks to depart from Platform 1 of Hung Hom Station at 1:00 p.m. and end at Sha Tin Station, so that passengers can take pictures.

In fact, there was already a group of railway fans waiting on the platforms of the East Rail Line this morning. When a train of 12 trucks appeared occasionally, they kept taking pictures. Some passengers frankly said they felt reluctant. I have some feelings.” However, some citizens thought it was a giant wheel of the times. “Nothing is eternal, and the times are constantly progressing.”

The mid-term refurbishment train commonly known as “Blackhead” is the predecessor of the “Yellowhead” train that was put into service by the electrification of the KCRC in 1982. Since 1996, the train has undergone mid-term refurbishment projects, including increasing the number of doors for ordinary class cards, redefining the seating layout of the carriages, and changing the cab equipment. The period when the train was in service also experienced changes in dynasties in the industry. The KCR merged with the MTR in December 2007, and the former KCR double arrows were replaced with the MTR mark.
