The work to repair the surfaces of the E40/A3 from Lincent (Liège) to Hélécine (Walloon Brabant), which began on August 8, has been completed, announced the Complementary Infrastructure Financing Company (Sofico) on Monday. The lanes on this section were therefore partly reopened to traffic on Monday.
The work focused on the tracks towards Brussels and aimed to refurbish the upper layers of the E40/A3 from Lincent to Hélécine, a portion of almost nine kilometers. The access and exit ramps from interchange no. 26 “Hélécine” were closed to traffic for a time. Then, work focused on interchange no. 27 “Lincent”, which was in turn closed to traffic, as was access to the Hélécine motorway area, towards Brussels.
In order to carry out the latest operations, in particular the rehabilitation of the police crossings located on the central berm, traffic will be further locally reduced to two lanes, in both directions, until November 10, underlines Sofico.
The project represents an investment of nearly 4 million euros (excluding VAT).
