The E313 motorway towards Liège and Lummen is completely blocked this Friday morning following a serious accident which occurred around 5 a.m. near Beringen. “The highway is completely closed due to an accident with a ghost driver,” explains the Flemish Traffic Center.
Three vehicles were involved. He is a ghost driver who collided with the other cars. A passenger in the first car hit died while the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were all seriously injured.
The collision also has consequences for traffic. “There is already a traffic jam”, we add on the side of the Flemish Traffic Center. We are talking about several kilometers of queues. And these disturbances are likely to last for a little while. This is why traffic is diverted: motorists must leave the motorway at exit 26 in Beringen, then follow the emergency diversion with the letter F to exit 27 (Hasselt-West), there drivers can take the highway.
Motorists coming from Ghent are advised not to go through Antwerp to get to Hasselt, but to go through Brussels.
