The Minister of e-Government, Alexander Iolovski, hinted that following the rotation of prime ministers in March, he may not remain in office. He commented to “Nova TV” that given the results achieved by the department, he would think seriously if he was offered to stay following March.

Health Minister Hristo Hinkov already announced at the beginning of January that he will not remain the Minister of Health following the change of prime ministers.

“Given the program I’m running and the results we’ve achieved in a short time, if I’m offered to stay – I’ll seriously think regarding it,” said Iolovski. However, he commented that there is enough time until the rotation, and added that it is a process in which the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister evaluate the work of each of the ministers.

Alexander Yolovski also commented that he was not a party nominee, but was invited by a person in the political office of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov in his capacity as an expert.

In October 2023, the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into threats once morest Yolovski. At the time, GERB and “There is such a people” stated that Yolovski had told the chairman’s council in the parliament that he was being pressured by Kiril Petkov and Bozhidar Bojanov from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria”. “He mentioned directly that Kiril Petkov and Bozhidar Bojanov put pressure on him for public procurement for 600 million BGN. At the request of Jolovski, security was assigned to him and his family. And Petkov denied that he threatened the minister.

When asked if he was under pressure now, Alexander Yolovski said: “I think that in recent months I have clearly shown that I work in conditions where I am not under pressure.” However, Iolovski did not answer whether he feared for his life. He stated that there is no information at what stage the prosecutor’s office’s investigation is at: “I was expressly warned by the supervising prosecutor that I have no right to give any information on the subject.”

Asked what his relationship with Kiril Petkov is now, the minister stated that he spoke with him in a personal capacity. He also added that no one asked for his resignation.
