The drone attack on a natural gas facility in Iraqi Kurdistan has claimed lives

Peloponnese Newsroom

At least three foreign workers were killed and three others injured in a drone attack on the Hor Mor gas field in Iraqi Kurdistan, an adviser to the region’s prime minister and a senior Kurdish political source said.

Production has been halted, both sources confirmed.

The attack also cut off gas supplies to power plants, curtailing production, Kurdistan’s Ministry of Electricity said.

The Pearl Consortium, UAE energy company Dana Gas and partner Crescent Petroleum have the rights to exploit Khor Mor and Shamsamal, two of Iraq’s major natural gas fields.

So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
