The contract covers the construction of two infrastructures, namely a multifunctional arena with 20,000 seats in downtown Kinshasa, precisely next to the Stade des Martyrs, and the second at the Kinshasa International Fair, which will include a exhibition of almost 21 thousand square meters.

The ceremony took place in the presence of a dozen people, including the Congolese Ministers of Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro, of Finance, Nicolas Kazadi, of Foreign Trade, Jean-Lucien Bussa, of Sports and Leisure, Serge Nkonde , a few members of the Prime Minister’s Office and delegates from the Presidency of the Republic as well as general managers of companies including that of Summa.

According to Selim Bora, president of Summa company which will carry out the construction work of these two major infrastructures, this firm has already built several similar infrastructures on the continent.

“We have already built an arena in Dakar with a capacity of 15,000 seats and the other in Kigali with 10,000 seats. That of Kinshasa will be the biggest and the most beautiful among the others. We are happy and waiting for the start,” he stressed.

The two parties did not give details on the duration of the work, nor on the cost and method of financing.

The Turkish company “SUMMA” is active in the construction, energy, mining, hotel, real estate and health sectors.

The signing of this contract comes as the DRC will host the next edition of the Francophone Games in 2023.
