Mladá Boleslav, April 29, 2024 – The Tipsport Extraliga of ice hockey has completed an exciting final series of the 2023/2024 season. The hockey players of Třinec, who took over the TG Masaryk Cup following the last final match, rejoice at the trophy for the winners. It was brought to the ice surface of the Enteria arena by a brand new Škoda Kodiaq.

The cup named following the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Garrigu Masaryk is one of the most closely guarded sports trophies in the Czech Republic. It is safely stored in the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame, and if it leaves this place, everything is governed by a very strict manual. With his strictness, he does not agree with the rules determining the movement of the Stanley Cup for the NHL winner. This time, the Škoda Kodiaq Exclusive Selection 2.0 TDI 142 kW 4×4 car won the privilege of delivering the valuable trophy to the ice surface. The car was finished in Moon White Metallic with 20-inch anthracite polished Rila wheels fitted with aero covers. After the players of the winning team retired to the cabin following a tumultuous celebration on the ice, they handed back the original cup and received its exact replica. The original was once more stored in the Škoda Kodiaq and returned to the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame.
The extra league season ends, the national team season begins
Škoda’s long-standing marketing association with ice hockey continues successfully and helps the Czech national sport in all directions. The automaker has supported the Ice Hockey World Championship continuously since 1992 and a year later became the main sponsor of the championship, for which it was recognized in 2017 with an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest main sponsorship of a sports world championship.
The car manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav adds a higher level of sponsorship of the highest domestic hockey competition to the record partnership and support of the Czech national team. In the extra league season 2023/2024, the Our hockey project was launched once more, which aims to make the most of the potential and spectator attractiveness of the extra league competition.
Although the domestic extra league season has just ended, other hockey activities will not be long in coming. Already at the beginning of May, the Czech Hockey Games will take place in Brno as the final event of the Euro Hockey Tour series. On May 7, they will be followed by the ceremonial announcement of the Hockey player of the 2024 season poll, where a representative of the Škoda Auto company will present the Our Leader award for the most productive extraleague player.
Škoda Auto invites to a hockey holiday in Prague and Ostrava
The final, 52nd round of the regular part of the extra league season 2023/2024 was dressed in the colors of the Škoda Auto company on Sunday, March 3. Already in the 4th year of the Naše kolo project, sports fans were presented with news from the production of the Mladá Boleslav automobile company and prepared competitions for unique prizes with the possibility of winning tickets to the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship 2024. At all six stadiums, two tickets were played for a selected match of the Czech hockey team and the main prize from all stadiums was two VIP tickets with accommodation for the match between the Czech Republic and Denmark.
Those interested might get additional tickets to the Ice Hockey World Cup as part of the My Hockey Experience competition. Contestants who answered the given question correctly were entered into a draw for prizes. In fifteen matches during the past season, the winners were selected in this way, and each time they received two tickets. This year, the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship takes place from May 10 to 26 in Prague and Ostrava, and Škoda Auto will be the official main sponsor for the thirty-second time.
