The government council, meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government, approved draft decree 2.22.194 establishing the National Committee for Gender Equality and the Advancement of Women. Presented by the Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and the Family, Aawatif Hayar, this draft decree is in line with the government program 2021-2026, with regard to the achievement of gender equality and empowerment women in various fields, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during the weekly press briefing at the end of the Council.
This project will bring together the objective conditions necessary to win this bet, by offering a framework guaranteeing harmony and convergence between the various initiatives and efforts deployed, in addition to the enhancement of achievements. This framework will also be an essential source for proposing solutions and providing national responses to all the problems related to the protection and promotion of women’s rights, through monitoring, evaluation and the mobilization of all parties. stakeholders from government sectors, national institutions, local authorities, the private sector and civil society associations.
Draft decree 2.22.194 aims to set up a National Committee for Gender Equality and the Advancement of Women. It is intended to be a new national system where various initiatives of the various stakeholders must converge in harmony, according to a new perspective that integrates all the actors in a framework of governance and a participatory approach.
