The Dow and Nasdaq fell all at once… interest rate hike next year

The Dow and Nasdaq index fell all at once.

On the 16th (US eastern time), the Dow Jones 30 Industrial Average closed at 32,920.46, down 281.76 points (0.85%) from the battlefield on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 index closed at 3,852.36, down 43.39 points (1.11%) from the battlefield, and the Nasdaq index closed at 10,705.41, down 105.11 points (0.97%).

US Federal Reserve (Fed) officials have dampened investor sentiment by predicting a rate hike next year.

The Fed raised its benchmark interest rate to 4.25-4.50% at the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) in December. Fed members predicted at this FOMC that the final U.S. interest rate would rise to 5.1% next year.
