There is no discussion on the subject these days, LeBron James is one of the best basketball players in history, if not the greatest of them all according to some. But when he arrived in the NBA 20 years ago, many doubted him despite the hype that surrounded the high school student. Some players had also dropped disastrous opinions on him.
Le King, Le Chosen or simply the GOAT for most of his fans: if LeBron James earned such nicknames during his career, it’s not without reason. In two decades spent on the floors of the big league, the winger has won absolutely everything with the Heat, the Cavs and then the Lakers. An immense career which was announced from his draft in 2003, Cleveland taking him with the first pick.
Surrounded by a monstrous hype out of high school where he had broken everything, the native of Akron was seen by the majority of observers as an absolute crack of the orange ball. But in the Cavaliers locker room, we were a little less convinced than that. Some players in the squad had thus dropped their honest opinion on the future Hall of Famer after his arrival a few weeks earlier… and today, we laugh a lot.

As much to say it right away, LeBron James did not take long before everyone agreed on his subject. Today, we can seriously laugh at these bullshit opinions… even if at the time, players being drafted directly from high school represented a high risk.
