After two editions canceled for health reasons, the Don Jigi Fest reopens its doors on April 15, 16 and 17. To the delight of festival-goers.
It is one of those festivals with a magnificent and unique history. For its tenth edition, the Don Jigi Fest intends, once once more, to illuminate the regions of Brittany with its authenticity, its commitment and its brilliant history which allows it to welcome big headliners today and thus to set up among the major French spring festivals.
A decade of volunteer commitment
Because this rise, it holds its beautiful history of the implication of its organizers. Initially created in 2010 by two high school humanitarian associations to help organizations in Mali, the Don Jigi Fest has gradually established itself as a major spring event in the west of France.
Little by little, the association grew, the festival-goers increased, the artists moved, and success took hold. A dozen high school students, all passionate regarding music and wishing, through their action, to have an impact on their own scale, made it possible to give birth to one of the most beautiful events in the region.
PLK, Caballero & Jeanjass, Green Montana: big headliners
Today, some 330 young volunteers participate in the organization of a festival concerned with environmental respect and strong social inclusion. Through the discovery of young talents and the highlighting of local culture, the Don Jigi Fest has taken on considerable importance in the region.
The particularity of this edition of the festival is that the momentum of success of recent years has enabled them to extend the performances of the artists over a third day. Thus, the festival will take place this year from April 15 to 17 in Vitré, 40 minutes from Rennes, and will welcome 24 artists, including PLK, Caballero & Jeanjass, Green Montana, Poupie and Sopico, but also Skip The Use, Kungs and Ofenbach (full program just below).
There is still time, if it has not yet been done, to take your pass to take part in this great celebration.
