The dollar rose to a 24-year high against the Japanese yen

The US dollar continued to rise once morest the world’s currencies, and reached its highest level in 24 years once morest the Japanese yen.

The US dollar jumped once morest the Japanese yen during trading on Wednesday, benefiting from the contradiction between an accommodative monetary policy in Japan and a tight policy of the Federal Reserve, which is determined to reduce inflation to the 2% target.

The greenback rose to 144.99 yen, the highest level since August 1998, continuing to approach an all-time high of 147.43 yen recorded in 1998.

The Japanese currency managed to cut its losses somewhat to 144.50 yen once morest the dollar.
