Deputy regional governor Charalambos Bonanos spoke to “Peloponnisos” and he was stormy and sharp for the train:

We have tried the politics of unrestrained rhetoric that caresses the ears of citizens. We are not the center of the world. There are other regions that are looking to get money from the government program.”

INTERVENTION OF THE PRESIDENT OF OSE IN “P” FOR THE PELOPONNIS RAILWAY

In an intervention that will be discussed, the president of the OSE, Giannos Grammatidis, made a speech in “Peloponnisos”, regarding the railway of the wider region.

«It is being reported with certainty in certain circles that it is only a matter of time before the suspended or under construction railway network is scrapped. I categorically deny this. And this is because, above all, the will of the citizens of the Peloponnese, but also our vision is the revival of the Peloponnese networksaid the Yannos Grammatidis, who we remind you had recently revealed to “P” that the relevant planning is already underway.

The president of the OSE shared with “P”, even more information: “OSE is the owner of their networks, immovable and movable property. GAIA OSE manages the decommissioned network. People often confuse the OSE with the GAIA OSE. I clarify, therefore, that there is the deprecated network, which will never be used again, but the suspended network, for which there are thoughts and studies are being carried out to revive it, can also be granted or used. This network is not given to just anyone.”

As Yannos Grammatidis clarified, the suspended network concerns the following lines: From Agioi Anargyros to Liosia. From Liosia to Megara. From Megara to Agios Theodoros. From the Isthmus to Corinth. The Corinth-Argos-Tripoli-Zevgolatio network. Also, the Isthmus-Loutraki, Diakopto-Kalavryta, Kavasila-Bartholomio-Kyllini, Argos-Nafplio, Lefktro-Megalopoli and Asprochoma-Messini networks.

As stated by the government agent, the Pyrgos-Katakolos network is considered active. On the contrary, deprecated networks are as follows: From Corinth to Kiato (but not from Kiato to Diakopto, while from Diakopto to Aegio it has been replaced by a regular gauge line). From Bartholomew to Loutra Kyllini. These networks can be utilized by GAIA OSE with concessions to third parties (municipalities, etc.) for cultural events, recreational events, etc.

One last thing: The Peloponnese network is mostly a metric network, that is, the distance between the two rails is one meter. The rest of the network is regular, i.e. the distance is 1.453 m.
