The Bank of Morocco introduced the “Tifinagh letter” on its interface, a step that was called for by the Amazigh movement, in particular.
After many state institutions moved towards setting a visual standard for equality between the two official languages, and allocating space for both in the facade of their headquarters.

This step created widespread satisfaction among the ranks of these activities, but they considered it somewhat late, while they renewed their demands for a response to their most urgent demand, which is to include the Amazigh language on banknotes.

In response to this issue, Mohieddine Hajjaj, coordinator of the Amazigh Action Front, revealed that “decorating the façade of the Bank of Morocco with the Tifinagh letter is a positive step, and it is a dedication to the renaissance that the Amazigh file has become known in light of the availability of political will and also royal patronage since the historic speech of Jadir in 2001.”

Hajjaj considered that “the disruption of the façade of the Bank of Morocco is in line with the vitality that the Amazigh language has witnessed in official interaction in recent years,” noting that “it is now the turn of private institutions, so that interaction with the Amazigh language is general and comprehensive.”

The same speaker stated that “reality is delaying some progress on this file, especially since the matter is related to the neglect of the Amazigh file by public institutions,” noting that “activists in the Amazigh field realize that all public actors intersect with the royal will on this issue.”

Regarding the demand to include the Amazigh language in the money, the Amazigh actor stated that “there is a stumble, but it takes time,” noting that “delaying one of the aspects of activation does not mean jumping on the law, as there are practical constraints, which reveal that the file is put on the right track.” .
