The board of directors of the Women’s Basketball Super League decided today (Tuesday) on a number of changes in the structure of the league, starting with the upcoming season, the 2024/25 season. Among other things, it was determined that the season will be extended by another month and will be played for seven full months – from October 28, 2024 to May 28, 2025. This is in accordance with the outline agreed upon between the chairman of the Premier League management Hila Bar David and the Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar.

It was also determined that the league will be played in three rounds, and that the playoff series will take place in the format of the best of five games. Another decision that was made by a majority of votes is to keep the foreign players plan that was decided at the beginning of the previous season, in which each team will be allowed to share three foreign players, including two American and one Bosnian.

Hila Kanister Bar-David, Chairman of the Women’s Premier League: “Today we made a number of important decisions that will continue the momentum of women’s basketball in recent years. We extended the duration of the league and decided to continue to strengthen the Israeli players, who proved this year that they are irreplaceable. The outline will provide an answer to the teams that will represent us in the European Cup and will include financial incentives according to location, according to the key that will be determined later.”
