Director Citto Maselli has died at the age of 92. The news was given by the national secretary of the Communist Refoundation Party – European Left Maurizio Acerbo with a touching post on Facebook.

“After the dissolution of the PCI which he opposed with Ingrao – Acerbo recalls once more – he was one of the founders of Rifondazione Comunista and continued to be a communist and anti-fascist militant until the last day. Citto has never become an ex, he has never posed as a veteran of glorious but past eras. We remember him with us younger with the camera to tell another possible world in Genoa in 2001 and always available to give his contribution to the political and cultural struggle. Citto Maselli was an Italian communist, a re-founder proud of the history of which he had been one of the protagonists, a comrade who never gave up on the idea of revolution.
A few days ago, Maselli had decided to take back the ANPI card thus communicating his decision: “I started fighting fascism at the age of 14 with the middle school students of the Tasso high school in Rome in 1944 and I continued to do so all my life. Never like in this moment there is a need to fight once morest intolerance, oppression, violence, discrimination, social injustices. Never as in this moment is there a need to defend our Constitution born of the Resistance, to fight for peace and once morest any war. This is why at the age of 92 I wanted to take back the Anpi card “.
