The capital is one of the leading cities in the implementation of the digital environment. One of such projects is the Digital Twin of Moscow. About it informed Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin in his telegram channel.
“A modern city cannot exist without a digital environment. Moscow is among the world leaders in this regard. One of the advanced projects of the capital is the Digital Twin of Moscow. This is an exact 3D copy of our city in virtual reality, on which all buildings, structures and facilities, engineering and transport communications are plotted,” the mayor said.
Sobyanin noted that the unique platform is the city’s own development, which helps plan the construction of residential, industrial and social facilities and monitor how important city projects are being implemented.
“To create it, it took more than 12 million photographs of the entire city, taken from different angles from the air and the ground. The images are completely updated every year to keep the photogrammetric model up to date.
The photogrammetric model is complemented by 5,000 analytical layers with data arrays for all areas of the city’s life, which are updated in real time.
“The platform also contains an archive of panoramas covering 13,000 kilometers of the entire territory of Moscow since 2013, which allow not only to view current and retrospective images of the city, but also to carry out high-precision measurements,” the press service emphasizes.
