Online Change.org there was a petition with a proposal to replace in the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Russian into Polish. The authors believe that the studio GSC Game World should make such a decision in connection with the recent events around Russia and Ukraine and the active participation of Poland in helping Ukrainian refugees. At the time of this writing, the appeal has collected more than 4,000 signatures.. There has been no official response yet.
“The Poles helped and are helping Ukraine especially strongly. Both politically and representatives of the local gaming industry. And such a step on the part of the Ukrainian studio would definitely be pleasant for the entire Polish, and at the same time Ukrainian audience. This is by no means a requirement for GSC Game World. Rather a request or even a suggestion. The studio has already shown a conscious and active social position,” the message says.
Previously, GSC Game World confirmed that the full launch of STALKER 2 in Russia will not, however, the Russian version has not yet been abandoned. The STALKER Discord channel answers questions about localization with information from the official website of the game, where Russian is still listed as one of the main project languages along with Ukrainian and English.
STALKER 2 is being developed for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
