The Deteriorating Relationship Between Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens: Insights and Updates

The relationship between Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens deteriorates every day.

The quarterback used his Twitter account to complain once more regarding what is still his team and asked his fans not to believe everything that is said regarding him and offered to personally answer any questions they have regarding it.

Jackson reported Monday that he asked the Ravens to be traded on March 2, but that Baltimore “isn’t interested in getting to my value.” He adds that “anyone who has known me or has been close to me knows that I love football and that my dream is to be able to help a team.”

The Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson at the start of the free agency period. That means the quarterback can listen to offers from other teams and Baltimore has the option to match them in order to keep him.

Harbaugh is confident of a resolution

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he is confident Jackson and the franchise will reach an agreement.

I haven’t seen the tweet. It’s a process, I’m following it very closely, like everyone here, and I look forward to a resolution,” Harbaugh said at the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix. “I think of Lamar all the time, thinking of him as our quarterback. We are building our offense around that idea. I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and I’m confident that will happen.”

The deadline for franchise tag players to agree to multi-year contracts is July 17.

In five professional seasons, Jackson has amassed 12,209 passing yards and 101 touchdown passes, with 38 interceptions in 70 NFL games, with a 45-16 starting record.

He also has 4,437 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. His 1,206 rushing yards in 2019 are the record for a quarterback in the NFL.

He has been invited to two Pro Bowls, has an All-Pro nomination and was MVP in 2019.
