The local Red Devils hosted the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Wednesday, July 27, at the Alphonse-Massamba Débat stadium in Brazzaville. It was during a friendly first leg, counting for the preparations for the qualifiers for the African Nations Championship (Chan) 2023.
The first goal of the match was scored by the visitors in the 23rd minute through the striker of Club Life, Glody Lilepo. The men of the Congolese technician, Jean Élie Ngoya have obtained several opportunities to come back to the score but it was without counting on their lack of success in front of the net of the Leopards.
After several unsuccessful attempts, deliverance came at the very end of the match thanks to a goal from Harvey Ossete in the 93rd minute.
This equalization allowed Red Devils A’ to snatch a draw before traveling across the Congo River to Kinshasa, DRC on July 31 for the return leg.
