Algerian radio said that actor and theater director Ahmed Benaissa died at the age of 78 following suffering a health crisis.

The Ministry of Culture and Arts said in a statement: “Over 50 years, the artistic path of the graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts culminated in more than 120 films and dozens of plays, as he directed several works for the Algerian National Theater, winning them many national and international awards.”

Among the most prominent works he directed for the theater are “The Olive,” “The Green Bird,” “Ajajiba and Wonders,” “The Price,” “The Exploding Cave,” “Predators,” “Lost Love,” and “Wind of War.” He also presented the children’s play “The Will of Dimna” ».

Among his films are: “November Boys”, “Al-Samidon”, “Kahla and White”, “Sheikh Bouamama”, “Broken Wings” and “Mustafa Bin Boulaid”. He also participated in the series: “Illusion”, “Vortex of Life” and “The Last Memory”.
