Books – Muhammad Nassar:
Ibrahim Saber, Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Eastern Region, held a meeting with a number of residents of the Sixth District in Nasr City, which is scheduled to be removed.
The government intends to remove the entire Sixth District area in order to redevelop the area.
During the meeting, the deputy governor said that the government takes the priorities and interests of citizens into consideration.
Saber added: If we want to solve the issue, people will introduce and implement its procedures and reach the neighborhood and the issue will be resolved.
He continued: Whoever wants a contract writes a paper and says I want a contract, and whoever wants compensation writes that he wants compensation.
He pointed out that the area will not be sold to investors, as was rumored, but it will be re-planned in a better way, and whoever wants the residents to leave will be compensated according to the price of the area.
He said: These dwellings were from the governorate and the people’s papers are with the government, and the issue is a re-planning of the area and not for the benefit of investors.
Regarding the options available to the residents, he explained: They offer to return to the same place in the same spaces, with the rental system according to the agreement, or there is a ready-made project in which they can be accommodated with payment of the material difference, or there is a housing project in an alternative place for those who wish.
The Deputy Governor confirmed: People before they move will remain satisfied and guarantee that they have taken the compensation that suits their interests, the shop can take cash compensation or return once more to the same place, but the disturbing activities for rest may have other places.
