The Defense and Security Forces call on the brothers lost by Boko Haram to lay down their arms

Taking advantage of this blessed month of Ramadan, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) call on the ”misguided brothers and manipulated by the evil forces of Boko Haram and the Islamic State in West Africa”, to file arms and to repent.

The Nigerien Army transmitted this message from Defense Zone N°5 on Radio Bouclier de Diffa.
”We understand that you are probably plagued by feelings of frustration and injustice, and that you seek to assert your ideals by any means necessary. However, we want to remind you that violence and terror are never the solution”.

Instead, “we urge you to lay down your arms and join the camp of light. By choosing this path, you will be able to save your souls, contribute to the fight against insecurity and promote the development of your region which has been so bruised by your actions” indicates the message.

”We are aware that some of you might be reluctant to surrender and lay down your arms, but we assure you that it will not be in vain. Indeed, by going to the administrative or customary authority closest to you, you will benefit from the advantages of the pentiti program, which will allow you to reintegrate into society and benefit from training and development programs. ensured the FDS.

”We understand that the current situation is difficult, but we encourage you not to give up hope. By choosing to lay down your arms and join the side of the light, you will show courage and wisdom, and you will help build a better future for yourself, for your community and for your whole. country” specifies the same source.

Following the massive movements of Boko Haram families throughout the month of March, the FDS continue to intercept hundreds of people who want to settle illegally on Nigerien territory.

To date, our FDS have intercepted and handed over to the Nigerian military authorities in Geldam a total of 1,342 people. And, note also that several Boko Haram elements surrendered to the authorities this week without being worried.
