The decision of Moshe and Orna Detz, 5 months after the death of their son

In memory of Omer: Orna and Moshe Detz are releasing a mini-album of the songs of Omer Detz, their son, about 4 and a half months after he passed away at the age of only 30. On the 30th anniversary of his death, his father and mother released one of his songs, “With our love”, and now four new songs are added to that song: “When you are there”, “There is no audience tonight”, “Moshe” and “Whispering to me that you left”.

With the release of the mini-album, named after the song “In our love”, this morning (Thursday) Orna and Moshe Detz say: “From the day our personal disaster befell us, we decided to join forces together and do everything to commemorate Omer through the songs he left as a living will and through assistance to the students at the school for Yoram Levinstein’s play where Omer studied.

“It is difficult to describe in words the first time we sat in the studio and heard his voice, an unforgettable, chilling and exciting moment and now more than ever it is clear to us that we want to share with everyone the EP with our love, the most precious gift he left us”, said Orna and Moshe.

As the Hatzims say, the proceeds from the new mini-album will be donated to scholarships for acting students at the Yoram Levinstein School – as will the proceeds from the Hatzims’ joint show that will take place later this month, for the first time in 18 years. “We decided together that we would do everything to commemorate Omar and fulfill his wish,” said Orna and Moshe in a statement they published about the show.
