Omoda’s press service informed Rossiyskaya Gazeta that the updated C5 crossover will arrive in Russia in the fourth quarter, not the third quarter as previously anticipated.
“The launch dates of the new model depend on the production schedule, which is determined by our production facilities,” they added.
Omoda also mentioned that the electric E5 is currently undergoing additional testing to ensure it meets operating conditions in the Russian market. Apparently, the Chinese company intends to refine the car for the Russian market. Omoda received Vehicle Type Approval for the electric crossover E5 back in May, and sales were initially scheduled to begin in the second quarter.
The model will be available in two trim levels. Its range on a single charge will be 430 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Recall that “RG” previously reported that the design of the updated C5 is currently undergoing the approval process. The electric version of the Omoda E5 crossover will likely serve as the foundation for this update. Besides the exterior, the interior of the brand’s bestseller in Russia is also slated for a refresh.
It is expected that the Omoda C7 will also enter the Russian market next year, becoming the brand’s flagship in the Russian Federation.
