The countries of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) have a cumulative debt of 1,468 billion FCFA (2.2 billion euros) to France as of December 31, 2021. The outstanding amount of this debt is experiencing a increase of 5% compared to the previous year and includes very unbalanced disproportions according to the States. The debt table published by the General Directorate of the French Treasury indicates that over the period considered, Cameroon concentrates 67% of this slate, which is equivalent to a debt of 992 billion FCFA (1.5 billion euros).
