Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan announced that the death toll from the border conflict between them rose to nearly 100, while a fragile ceasefire between the two Central Asian countries held for a second day.
Forces from the two former Soviet republics clashed over a border dispute from September 14-16, accusing each other of using tanks, mortars, artillery and attack drones to target border military sites and nearby residential communities.
Kyrgyzstan said 13 other people had died in the fighting, in addition to the 46 it had announced earlier. The former Soviet Republic also reported 102 injured.
Kyrgyzstan had earlier said it had evacuated nearly 137,000 from the conflict zone. The government declared Monday a day of mourning for the victims.
Media in Kyrgyzstan, which described the conflict as an invasion, reported on Sunday that some of the evacuees had already begun to return to their homes.
Tajikistan also reported casualties on Sunday, saying 35 people had died. It did not report any mass evictions from the area.
The two sides agreed to a cease-fire on September 16, and the agreement has held since then to a large extent, despite what was said regarding a number of bombings following it.
