The Egyptian actress Maha Abu Auf passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning, at the age of 65, following a struggle with illness, and her funeral is scheduled to take place this followingnoon from the Al-Rahman Al-Rahim Mosque in Cairo.
The news was announced by artist Ehab Fahmy, member of the board of directors Representative Professions Syndicate Where he wrote, commenting on a picture he posted of her, on his Facebook page: “The Representative Professions Syndicate and the group of artists mourn the dear artist Maha Abu Auf, and we belong to God and to Him we shall return.”
The actress was suffering from an illness cancer During the last period, in addition to the recent infection with severe pneumonia, due to which she was admitted to a hospital in New Cairo to take her last breath there.
Abu Auf began her artistic steps through singing, where she formed with her brother, the late artist Izzat Abu Auf and her sisters Mona, Manal, and Mervat, a singing group in the seventies, called the “Four Umm” band, and the band achieved many successes and held concerts in Egypt and Arab and foreign countries. The band became famous in many countries, and despite the band’s success, it was disbanded with Ezzat and Maha’s preoccupation with acting.
Maha has presented many television and cinematic works to art, perhaps the most famous of which are the series “Do Not Extinguish the Sun”, “Eagle of Upper Egypt”, “Above the Clouds”, “Where is My Heart”, “Khawaja Abdel Qader”, “Fares without a Horse”, and others Of the series, which was mostly presented the character of the aristocratic lady.
As for the cinematic scene, Maha started her steps in the early eighties through the movie “Do not oppress women”, then continued her cinematic work and presented the films “Casanova”, “The Tramps”, “From the Look of an Eye”, “Halet Hob”, and “Zay” Today” and other films, although Maha’s focus is more on the small screen.

The last appearance of the late artist was through the series “Velvet Silk”, which was shown several months ago, and it is directed by Ahmed Hassan.
On the personal level, Abu Auf married, at the beginning of her life, the guitarist Omar Khurshid, and he died in a traffic accident in the same year in which they married 1981. After his death, Maha stopped acting for many years, during which time she married another businessman and gave birth to her only son, Sharif. She separated from him following a while, and following her separation from the father of her son, she was associated with Omar Al-Manzlawy until her death today.
