On Sunday morning, the Egyptian actor, Zaki Fateen Abdel Wahab, died at the age of 61 following a struggle with cancer.
The late artist suffered from lung cancer and a brain tumor, and he had the first in 2019, and last June he had another brain tumor.
The artist Zaki Fateen Abdel Wahab belongs to a large artistic family, as he is the son of the late great director Fateen Abdel Wahab, and the late great artist Laila Mourad.
He learned directing at the Higher Institute of Cinema, and married while he was still a student to the artist, Soad Hosni, who was years older than him, and then separated following months.
Abdel Wahab began his artistic career as an assistant to a number of senior directors, such as Ali Badrakhan in the movie “People of the Summit”, Samir Seif in the movie “Streets of Fire,” and Youssef Chahine in the movie “The Sixth Day.
Then he directed his first movie “Romantica” in 1996, which encountered many problems, perhaps the reason for not repeating the experience later.
Zaki Fateen Abdel Wahab also took the acting path, participating in the films “Summer Robbery”, “Alexandria Violin and Violin”, “Mercedes”, “I Love Sima”, “One Sahih”, “Al-Fagoumi”, and “Forbidden Body” ‘, and ‘Omar Blue’.
Among his most prominent TV dramas are the series “Ahl Cairo”, “Duran Shubra”, “Third Party”, “Al-Araf”, “Temporary Name”, “Black Box”, “Above Suspicion”, and “Above Suspicion”. Ayoub”. The series “Between Heaven and Earth” is considered his last drama.
