Egyptian director Ahmed El Badry died on Friday evening at the age of 69, a few days following his left foot was amputated as a result of diabetes.

Ahmed Al-Badri graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Department of Directing and Acting in 1977. He worked as an assistant director in the play “The Crazy Nest” (1979), presented by the late actors Mohamed Najm and Hassan Abdeen.

Ahmed Al-Badri later met director Mohamed Fadel, and worked as his assistant in the series “The White Banner” (1988), “The Sea Said” (1982), “The Bird of Fire” (1987), and “The Journey of Mr. Abu El-Ela Al-Bishri” (1986). He also worked as an assistant to director Nader Galal in the film “Peace, My Friend” (1987).

In 2005, Al-Badri directed his first film, “Ghawi Love,” starring Hala Shiha, Mohamed Fouad, and Ramez Jalal. He then directed films including “Lakhma Ras” (2006), “Kamil Al-Awsaf” (2006), “I Am Not With Them” (2007), and “The Part The second is from the films “Omar and Salma” (2009) and “The Bag” (2021), among others.

On television, Al-Badri directed the series “Kid Al-Nisa” (2011), starring Fifi Abdo, Somaya Al-Khashab, Ahmed Badir, Ayten Amer, Dina Fouad, and Mimi Gamal.
