[Financial Channel/Comprehensive Report]“Nexperia”, a subsidiary of Wingtech, a leading Chinese mobile ODM company, quietly acquired the UK’s largest semiconductor manufacturer “New Wave” for regarding 63 million pounds (regarding 2.1 billion Taiwan dollars) in July last year. Special Wafer Manufacturing (NWF), but the British government suddenly announced on May 25 this year that a national security investigation was launched on this transaction. Existing news pointed out that the British government intends to limit or block the above-mentioned acquisition within a few weeks.
“Bloomberg” quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that following months of investigation, the British government is inclined to restrict or block Nexperia’s acquisition of NWF, and a final decision is expected within weeks.

Another source said the extension of the British government’s review suggested the deal might be rejected outright.
The report also pointed out that Britain will announce its new prime minister next week, when the new prime minister will appoint a new business secretary to make a final decision on the acquisition.
