The deadline for their submission is over 2024-07-25 09:29:20

As of today Monday (22/7) over 1.2 million taxpayers have not yet “pressed” the submission button, with them facing the possibility of fines.

The “hourglass” for filing the returns is ending, as well as for taxpayers who have not yet submitted their papers.

About 1,200,000 statements remain so far. This year, the tax refund will be made immediately, with a deadline for submitting the declarations on July 26.

To meet the submission deadline, 200,000 returns must be submitted per day.

“This is a number that has never happened before. It’s difficult,” says accountant Nikos Fragiadakis, speaking to MEGA.

Amendments

“The point is that this year the situation got a little more complicated because there were the so-called automated declarations, the pre-filled ones, where more than half of them needed modifications.

According to accountants, there is a constant need to submit amending returns as:

– New salary certificates are submitted by agencies

– Errors are discovered in automated statements

– Important issues such as claw back remain pending

“On the one hand, we have the pre-completed ones that constantly require amendments and this surprises the tax professional. The second, there are agencies that renew salary certificates up to 10 days ago. This takes time away from the overall process.”

“I cannot understand why the ministry insists on such a territorial and short period of the tax return submission process,” he concludes.
