In the midst of a series of versions regarding an imminent departure from the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security, Sergio Berni affirmed that he remains in office and clarified that “the decision is made by the governor” Axel Kicillof.

The day I have to go, I’m leaving. I am not tied to anything. Just as I did not set out to be here, neither did I set out to continue being here. I am not Martín Guzmán, nor is Axel Kicillof Alberto Fernández”, Berni pointed out, referring to the controversial departure of the former Minister of the National Economy.

In this context, the Buenos Aires official stressed: “The day the governor tells me that I have to leave, I will continue to accompany him from wherever I have to accompany him.”

“Is a decision made by the governor. That decision is not made by me, it is not capricious. It is a decision that has to do with a task that we are doing in the province of Buenos Aires, with a responsibility and commitment that I assumed. Me I did not apply to any contest, I did not ask to be a ministerbut they were giving themselves conditions for which they asked me to collaborate in the province,” argued Berni regarding his continuity in the provincial cabinet.

It is not the first time that I have been denounced for illicit enrichmentI already went through this situation. I was audited by a judge and by the body of experts of the Supreme Court of Justice. After carrying and bringing papers, no one was “dismissed” for illicit enrichment and all the accusations,” Berni questioned in dialogue with AM530.

And he predicted: “This case is going to be the same. It is part of the game and we understand it as such. The electoral campaign began, a campaign where ideas or projects are not discussed and what it is regarding is hurting the adversary.”

Berni linked the rumor of his resignation with political “operations”

Sergio Berni, who is still in charge of the Ministry of Security because the governor resists the onslaught of the mayors, affirmed that the rumors of his departure are part of “a discussion that has to do with next year’s candidacies”.

“They consider me resigned because we know what political operations are like in the media. Here what is being discussed are not security plans or how to deal with security from here on out, but that there is political discussions that have to do with approving the budget, with funds for each of the mayors,” he emphasized.

Asked if he is in conflict with the mayors, he replied: “I don’t know of any mayor who has publicly said that we don’t take care of him or we don’t solve his problems. Now, Politics operates like this, always in the dark, carrying out operations and slandering”.

“It is a discussion that has to do, above all, with the candidacies for next year. They are already disputing and competing from anonymity to see who is positioned and how in the face of the closing of the lists for next year,” he said .

Finally, the Buenos Aires official sentenced: “At this point in my life, with a family and with all that it means…Being Minister of Security is a burden more than a satisfaction, but we do it because we have a vocation for service and a commitment to our province”.
