The race towards the European elections is in full swing with Giorgia Meloni, Antonio Tajani and Elly Schlein running for their parties. The latest survey on the voting orientations of Italians is provided by the survey by the public opinion institute Noto polls for Porta a Porta, Fratelli d’Italia at 28.5% leads the Pd at 20%, followed by M5S at 16. Then Lega at 9% followed by Forza Italia at 8.5. Above the 4% threshold, the United States of Europe list at 4.5 while the Greens-Left Alliance and Action are just below. The Libertà list promoted by Cateno de Luca stops at 2.8%, the one promoted by Michele Santoro ‘Peace earth dignity’ – which today had the green light from the TAR on signatures – at 1.5%. In terms of seats, the Fdi would elect 25 MEPs, the PD 18, the 5 Stars 13, the League and Fi 8 and the United States of Europe 4. All other parties are out.

The Supermedia AGI/YouTrend of the week was also published on Thursday 9 May with the Pd at its highest in a year with 20.6% and FdI at 27.2%. M5s drops below 16% for the first time in 2024, while the head-to-head between Lega and Forza Italia-Noi Moderati becomes very close, with the Azzurri leading by 0.2%. All the parties fighting to overcome the threshold gain something, with the United States of Europe at 4.7% and AVS and Action both on the edge of the fateful 4%.
