Supermassive Games filed five new names.
Despite moderate success, the Dark Pictures series may well continue for years. The Swedish studio Supermassive Games has just filed five new names for future episodes of the franchise.
Three episodes have been released so far: The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan in 2019, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope in 2020, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes in 2021. A fourth title is expected for 2022. The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me should indeed be released in October 2022. And according to the new filings of names, the Swedish studio might continue to offer us a new title per year for another five years.
The Craven Man, O Death, Directive 8020, Intercession, and Winterfold would be titles for future entries in the series.
Designed as interactive horror films, Dark Pictures games are part of a horror anthology developed by a studio that specializes in virtual cinema. While best known for its work on Until Dawn, Supermassive Games has chosen to focus exclusively on developing the Dark Pictures franchise with publisher Namco Bandai. The series enjoyed moderate critical and commercial success. However, the latest episodes are encouraging.
