The police spotted Saturday evening two vehicles driving at high speed and which seemed to be in a speed competition near the avenue du Parc royal. The drivers slipped between the other cars traveling at the appropriate speed. One of them even burned a traffic light. It will later turn out that the latter was in possession of a provisional driving licence, which did not authorize him to drive following 10 p.m. or without a learning guide.

Urban rodeos: these crazy drivers difficult to quantify and counter

Another driver driving at excessive speed and carrying out dangerous maneuvers was noticed a few hours later by police officers on surveillance on the Heysel Plateau. The driver, accompanied by a passenger, was arrested. He too was in possession of a provisional driving licence. The police officers who participated in the surveillance of the Heysel Plateau, shortly following, pursued and neutralized a fourth vehicle traveling at high speed and whose driver almost caused a frontal collision during a dangerous overtaking.

The vehicles of the four drivers were repaired and seized administratively. The drivers had their driving license revoked for a period of 15 days.

The authorities of the police zone recalled that road safety is a priority for the zone, which will continue to respond firmly to the problem of urban rodeos.
