Mowafi said during his program “My Lord, Increase My Knowledge,” broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, that there is a medicine that negatively affects liver health, and many people are accustomed to taking it on their own.

The professor of critical care medicine revealed that the medication he was referring to was “antibiotics,” stressing that it should only be obtained with a prescription.

He stressed that the doctor does not prescribe antibiotics to the patient except after subjecting him to a set of tests and analyzes to determine whether his health condition allows him to take it or not.

He added that the indiscriminate use of some antibiotics may pose a great risk to liver health, especially if it suffers from some diseases.
