“The Dangerous Post-Political Era of the Green Party: Analysis and Criticism”

My history teacher once said: “The Greens are so left-wing that they are right-wing once more.”

While the horseshoe theory may have had its charm in the 1990s, it doesn’t get you very far in “the best Germany of all time”.

Since it was primarily the Greens who established corona and climate totalitarianism, a new enthusiasm for war and a cult of (speech) bans in the name of good, the right-left schema is of little use for an analysis of the Greens phenomenon.

That’s why green isn’t “the new right” either: nationalism, racism and anti-Semitism have had their day as political power models.

Much more dangerous is the Green Party’s attempt to usher in a post-political, if not to say post-ideological era: Political content is being abolished in favor of the “right attitude”. The religion of “unstoppable constraints” (corona, climate) takes the place of weighing up interests, the only purpose of which is to meticulously pursue contradiction.

Since the Greens embody the good in themselves, any criticism is malicious. The thought police are particularly active on Twitter, where a user now has to answer in court for Robert Habeck being called a “complete idiot”.

The power obsession of the Greens and their revenants is particularly dangerous where the boundaries between politics and theology blur. If “unvaccinated” children are not allowed to go on school trips without any scientific basis, or if it is to be enshrined in law that women can also have penises, it is no longer regarding rational thinking.

As in medieval religious sects, the crazier the claim, the more fanatically it is defended.

“If you can get people to believe absurdities, you can get them to commit atrocities,” Voltaire is said to have said. The atrocities of the green mindset not only aim at material expropriation and a neo-feudal increase in power of technocratic interest groups such as the IPCC or the WHO, but at the expropriation of thinking in general.

It remains to be hoped that today’s Green Middle Ages will be followed by a new enlightenment.
