The Dailes Theatre will donate its entire production to a theatre in Kyiv

The production of the theater “Caucasian Chalk Circle” will be completely transferred to the stage of the Kyiv Drama and Comedy Theater. The scenography, costumes and all the props of the play will be given as a gift to Ukrainian colleagues during this month, so now the theater is preparing the scenery and costumes for transportation. All artistic expenses and shipping of scenery are covered by the company Stiga RM.

The director of the Dailes Theatre, Juris Žagars, notes that cooperation with the Kyiv Theatre began at the beginning of the war. In turn, the company Stiga RM has been a partner of the Dailes Theatre for the second year. Every month, the company supports the fighters in Ukraine with special equipment, transport and other necessary things, and together they came up with the idea of ​​such a gift to the Ukrainian people.

“The scenery and costumes prepared in our workshops, their transportation, the production itself, the involvement of artists – all this will be jointly provided by us. This is a project that Ukrainian theaters are currently finding it difficult to implement on their own, because the priority, of course, is the front. [..] But even during war, people need art, especially theatre, and especially theatre that speaks on topics that are relevant in Ukraine today,” notes Žagars.
