Knovíz (Kladensko) – The D7 highway has been closed since morning at the 17th kilometer in the direction of Prague near the village of Knovíz after an accident involving trucks and a van. During the accident, fuel and oil leaked massively from the crashed cars, and part of the diesel also leaked outside the highway. The highway is still closed because of this. How long it will remain impassable is not clear, fire department spokesman Jan Sýkora told ČTK at 11:30 a.m. Drivers must exit D7 on the ramp before the accident.

The accident, which left one person with minor injuries, was reported around 07:40. “According to initial findings, the truck driver should have entered the right lane, where he collided with two road maintenance vehicles,” police spokeswoman Barbora Schneeweissová told ČTK.

According to Sýkora, firefighters captured oil and part of the diesel. “The wrecked cars are now being towed away, but the diesel tank also leaked outside the body of the highway, which must be removed by a specialized company,” Sýkora said. According to him, the highway will remain closed until at least 12:00, but probably longer.

Already in the morning, the accident complicated traffic on the D1 highway, which was closed for almost two hours.
