The current municipal authority is not interested in culture – 2024-04-10 11:58:21

Marianna Stamatiadou expresses her intense concern regarding the situation that prevails in terms of culture in Patras.

The oldest member of the Board of Directors of DIPETHE Patras, president of the Association of Friends of DIPETHE Patras, Marianna Stamatiadou has for years proven how much she cares for the culture of the city, with continuous actions and interventions.

This is what he does now, as he points out “the current municipal authority is not at all interested in culturesomething that proves it every day and in a variety of ways“.

As Mrs. Stamatiadou emphasizes, speaking to pelop.gr, “I have stated so much in the past both regarding the DIPETHE of Patras and other places of culture. He might have done many things that would have taken the city one step further. But, everyday proves the opposite. We see a city without infrastructure and a municipal authority that does nothing even for spaces that might be used, such as e.g. the Glamorwhich let her fall into the situation she is in today”.

At the same time, Mrs. Stamatiadou refers once once more to the issue of the artistic director of DIPETHE Patras, a topic that has been raised many times, having in fact all the time previously emphasized the necessity of speeding up the procedures so that the Theater might have a summer production. But, as we know, something like this did not happen, with the result that the deadline for submitting applications that ends on April 26 is currently “running”.

But even in this particular case there is an issue, since as Ms. Stamatiadou points out, “many notable artists, who had previously submitted their papers for the position of artistic director, speaking with them now they told me how they are considering reapplying. And this, because every time worthy people are rejected and some sky-scraper comes to us“.
