The CTRI faces a dilemma! –

It was certainly not the enthusiasm and crowds of the big Pdgist rallies, but the recall of most of the troops during the return of the former ruling party last Saturday clearly shows that the CEO could still have good days ahead. in front of him. The party created on the banks of the Bouenguidi (Ogooué-Lolo province, southeast) by the late president Omar Bongo Ondimba has, if it were still needed, proven that it has not lost much – thing of its mobilization capacities and that it remains one of the main components on the national political scene, according to its leaders who declared to anyone who would listen, loudly and intelligibly that the CEO remains “in the” zeitgeist – a party of power – a party in power”. Like a snub!

What happened last Saturday at the Libreville Sports Palace is, on balance, a negation of all or part of the Inclusive National Dialogue (DNI) and the transitional authorities who declared that they believed in the recommendations resulting from it. presented as the will of the sovereign Gabonese people, we had heard.

Many observers and editorialists believed they saw through the closing ceremony of the DNI meeting, last April 30 at the Palace of the Presidency of the Republic, as a first-class burial of the Gabonese Democratic Party, condemned to deprecation by the commissioners of the DNI, via the Political Commission which, had decided on the dissolution of the Gabonese Democratic Party and the ban on all its leaders from standing as candidates in all political elections in the Gabonese Republic for three (3) years, had then announced the Minister of Institutional Restoration, Murielle Minkoué Mintsa.

The sentence also applied to all political parties, whose activities had at the same time been decided to freeze, until the legal and legal system governing the creation, organization and operation of political parties in Gabon was reorganized.

Obviously, these decisions will have remained a dead letter in the face of the ferment currently observed on the national political scene and the ‘return to grace’ of the CEO yet accused of all ”sins of Israel” by the thousand participants in the Inclusive National Dialogue. Paul Biyoghé Mba, interim president of the party said ”the masses” going so far as to speak of “benevolence of the president of the CTRI towards the CEO”.

The most indecent is this family photo of the hierarchs of the old ”Party – State”at the end of the high mass at the Palais des Sports on which appear many faces who are among the leading figures of the transitional institutions, mainly in the government and the transitional parliament, even though the latter are regularly accused of having plunged the country into the abyss due to erratic governance for 55 years.

These facts, added to the chaotic organization of the presidential election coupled with the legislative elections of August 2023 and generally associated with cookie-cutter democratic governance, were presented as the main reason for the takeover of power by the force ”the blow of liberation” by the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI), led by the former Commander-in-Chief of the Republican Guard, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, president of the transition who became 1 year and 45 days ago.

An embarrassing ‘ally’ and cumbersome !?

In fact and along the way, it is now the ”great love” between executioners and victims of yesterday who seem to have smoked the pipe of peace. Time therefore seems to have completely eclipsed the ”mistrust” some and ‘’l’arrogance’’ from others, in a deal that is perfectly illegible to this day for ordinary Gabonese people who come out visibly groggy.

Fine tacticians, Paul Biyoghé Mba, Angélique Ngoma and company took the lead, announcing their unreserved support for the CTRI and proclaiming “city and worldtheir total support for the draft future constitution, for which they have already expressed their support ‘’OUI’’ frank and unambiguous in view of the upcoming referendum consultation.

Until then, to make Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma their favorite candidate for the next presidential election, if the latter were to donate his person to his compatriots, as is clearly emerging, the step will quickly be taken, knock on wood . How to get rid of an ally who has become, although reviled yesterday, who also displays so much ”goodwill” and of ”good faith”with a reservoir of votes that can be mobilized at will? the situation is as who would say, ”a real pebble in the CTRI’s sock”.

Unless we accept this assertion from a local political actress who requested anonymity, who believes she knows that “the CEO and the CTRI are the same thing, with the only difference that some are in loincloths and others in fatigues”she laments.

However, the populations and observers who are gradually recovering from ”political trauma” and the torpor of the past weekend, the question arises as to what the transition authorities will now do with the recommendations of the Inclusive National Dialogue, now applied with variable geometry?

Some of them have already been started, such as the return of the organization of elections by the Ministry of the Interior, to name only this major fact. But not only that!
