The Cru store brand has decided to recall smoked trout salads and smoked fish platters, due to the possible presence of the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes, we learned in a press release on Friday.

“During microbiological checks, the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes was noted in the product ‘smoked trout salad’ (150 g) bearing the use-by dates (DLC) 15/9/2023 and 17/9/2023 and in the product ‘smoked fish platter’ (2p) bearing the use-by dates (DLC) 1/9/2023 and 22/09/2023”, it is specified.

In consultation with the supplier and Afsca, Cru has therefore decided to withdraw the products concerned from sale. Customers who have purchased these products are invited not to consume them and to return them to the store, where they will be refunded. In the meantime, all stores have removed the affected products from the shelves.

The affected products were offered for sale in all Cru stores (Colruyt group). From 11/9/2023 to 15/9/2023 inclusive for the smoked trout salad and from 25/8/2023 to 15/9/2023 inclusive for the smoked fish platter.

Listeria monocytogenes infection can be dangerous for young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised people, and the elderly. Possible symptoms are nausea and vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea or constipation, headache and persistent fever (flu-like feeling). These symptoms usually appear within 2 to 60 days.
