When the Crown Prince family stood in front of the photographers on the quay, Prince Sverre Magnus posed with Amalie Giæver Macleod, side by side with the Crown Prince couple and Princess Ingrid Alexandra. All five were smiling and seemed to be in good spirits.
The castle does not want to comment on the young woman, or verify who she is.
– We do not want to share any information about her, says communications adviser Sara Svanemyr at the Royal Court in an SMS to NTB.
Went to the same school
According to LinkedIn, Macleod was a student at Elvebakken school in Oslo until this year, where Prince Sverre Magnus was also a Russian this spring. She has worked as a model for Team models.
Royal house expert and historian Trond Norén Isaksen tells NTB that he has heard that the prince has a girlfriend.
– What kind of signal does it send that he has a young woman with him at such a high-profile event, where they know there is a lot of press present?
– This is a private event, and it is not unusual for members of the royal family to bring their girlfriends with them. It doesn’t have to mean more than that. However, it is not usual for the royal family to bring a companion to official events, unless they are engaged, says Norén Isaksen.
Many spectators
Many spectators have made the trip to the center to catch a glimpse of the bride and groom, the Crown Prince’s family and the other guests on Friday.
Crown Prince Haakon posed for several selfies on the way out to the quay, and even took time for a selfie with a group of young people.
Märtha Louise, Durek Verrett and the wedding guests traveled by boat from Ålesund to Geiranger, where the wedding will take place on Saturday.
